Trying to get an ID and possible Appraisal

I have this rug that was my fathers greatgrandfather's anyway to identify what type and approx value?
I would appreciate any help.

Has a few elements of maybe Malayer design although the weave is a bit larger and substantial like a Caucasian.... Good colors, good design. Private party will not be super high but it does have good value. What are you trying to do with it? keep it? insure it?

Not yet sure what we are doing with it. Is the value worth insuring? Appraised about ten years ago for around 1500.00 not sure how qualified the appraiser was though. One of the free traveling appraisal companies did it

You will certainly want to have this under some form of insurance, which I suppose you should talk to your insurance company to see how they handle it. You should have some up-to-date valuation, although written appraisals can be costly around $250 which I personally would not necessarily recommend. Some companies may honor an online service it just depends. The rug appears to be good quality and of some age too, perhaps 75-90 years old at least. Finding a replacement for a reasonable cost would be somewhat difficult since the carpet has good character of a much older rug and condition seems to be very good.

It is a Hamedan rug but I am not quite sure which village. It is also very good and pretty and worth insuring

persian rug,Maybe Hamadan.
Loose weave -village rug,not worth much
