Not necessarily on a carpet like this, but often, value needs to have some research and a lot of considerations evaluated including individual's needs. Also, the threads tend to get dated but remain indexed on the internet. After looking more closely at this rug, it appears as though there is some blooming to the pile, which will affect value, and the rug is likely in the range of Chinese 150 line perhaps. Remember the estimator does not have eyes, and private party value would be considerably different.
