Purchased this last week for 80usd from a local junk store.
242" x 65"
Looks hand knotted to me after reading many ID threads here.
Can anyone tell me age and country of origin/type/style?

Thanks,

Dave

Ok, so I've been searching since I posted this and am thinking it is Kashan? No idea if it is an Indian repro or actually Persian.
What do you think?
Btw, size above was wrong...must be 142 not 242.

Hello Classicform,

Welcome to the forum.
It's an Indian made Bidjar design, 1990's or newer.

Thanks cartona.
You know...it's really not a bad rug. Feels soft, looks decent, doesn't shed, I've owned worse:)

These are hand knotted rugs with good pile...the wool is different and the fringe and selvedge are structured as Indian woven rugs. They are decorative with a good life span.

It's a good deal for a hand made rug.

Yeah, didn't think I could go too wrong for 80 bucks:)
The purchase did make me do some research which in turn made me learn something so all in all I'm happy with it.
