Although it is a sarouk design, I think general Arak region. Some people here may call this mehreban, it's possible the design made it there.

Djosan, quality ok but not top level. Urgently needs hands of a pro to fix the fringe.

Thank you so much KAD and RugPro for your reply.
KAD, can you tell me if this DJosan is pre World War 1? Can you tell me its approximate age?
I read an article earlier about the progression from Ferahan to Sarouk to Ferahan Sarouk to Malayer to Josan for rugs in the Arak region.
I bought the rug for $250 because it looked like a an old rug from Arak, but thought it might be an old Sarouk. Now I see that it is a Djosan (Josan)and I am pleased.
I need to find a place to do the repairs. I had a bad experience with a Turkoman with a silk foundation I had cleaned at a professional rug place (color runs of red on white) and don't trust myself to do the repair to the corner and fringe. Is the value high enough for me to send out for repair? This is why I want to know the current value of the rug. Thanks again.

I don't think pre WW I, looks more like 1930-40 to me. If I have customers that need rug service in the USA I personally can recommend www.traditionalrugrepair.com in NY. Atilla Kosker is a very professional man, he did some services on rugs of US customers that bought rugs from us. You should be aware that quality washing and restoring is not cheap - this is the difference to most offered low price services that result bad expirience and unsatified customers.
