I just got these rugs at an auction. The first one is in very good condition, the second one, not so much. The first one has a label on the back identifying it as from Iran and a Tabriz. I am curious about the weaving on the top. I would like to know what the second one is . Thank you.

First, Thank you for your reply. I had difficulty posting the pictures correctly. I will start another post rather than trying to straighten this one out. On the rug that is shown, (only one) can you estimate the age of the Karaja? Thanks again.

that Karaja is not particularly old. probably 1960's, so just about semi-antique. could be more or less by a few, but not much older.

First (red) one east Turkish rug. Tabriz is close to the border so rugs from Turkey and Azerbeijan cross the border regularly and are sold in Tabriz. The second ((brown) rug is a Karaja as posted, but a bad rug with nice colors. Karaja is close to Heriz and the design is a bit influenced by this town. Karaja is also close to Tabriz and most of these rugs are traded in Tabriz. Both are about 1950 - 60.
