I am a new forum user and glad to have to opportunity to post. I purchased a vintage Kara Kashan rug measuring at a garage sale over the weekend for $100 and my wife suggests that it was a foolish purchase and that the rug is best suited for the trash heap. Although it has some condition issues as seen in the photos, I was attracted to the vibrant colors and pattern. It has a label on the back identifying it as Kara-Kashan, Kashan 855 9'x12' from the makers of Karastan. How old might it be? What is the country of origin? What is the value (if any!) and what might it cost to repair the frayed edges? Thank you and please advise

Can't get all the pictures to load without the website timing out. Using the back button to refresh resulting in duplicate posts-but without all of my photos. Please help!

As Nick mentioned, it is machine made, so it won't have the value of a hand knotted rug.
However, Karastan used good quality wool, and given the size, you still did well at $100.00.
If you like the design and colors, you did really well.
