Hello,
First of all, let me apologize for the abysmal quality of these photos. If I had access to the rug, I'd take them again!
The object of interest is a large carpet(approx 9x12 feet, 275x365cm). It has a lot in common with the American Sarouk type - the same raspberry color, white to light blue wefts. However, the pattern isn't quite the same floral spray I associate with American Sarouks. Another thing that seems different to me (in my limited experience) is that there is fringe on one end only. The other end has a short (~3cm) kilim section. I'm used to seeing fringe on both ends of American Sarouks. I'm pretty sure it was made in the 1950's or earlier.
So, what do you think? Is it a variant American Sarouk, some other variety of Sarouk, or something else entirely? Thanks in advance for your help!
