Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and fortunate to have found it. I recently acquired a few rugs. Not sure if they are Persian that is why I'm here for your help. I'm asking for help in identifying these rugs to know their origin and their proper name. This is the first one that measures 68" (inches) X 39" (inches) Thank you in advance.

Rug #1

Dimensions: 68" X 39"

Hey Nick thank you for your reply. Would you know it's value and what are the names of the others? Maybe I can do some research on my own.

Thank you so much again.

Ok I reduced the size of the images of the rugs so the images should load faster. I hope this helps.

Most likely a caucasian rug. The rug would perfectly fit to the provenience of Lesgi / Lesghi. The corrosion of the iron oxide dyed dark (black) wool would indicates an age of at least 80 years. Looking at the colors and wool quality I am not 100% positive about caucasian origin - colors and wool make me also consider it might be an old turkish reproduction of an Lesgi rug. I would need to see the rug in porson to give you an ID that is exact.

My appraizal would be 85% Lesgi, 15% Lesgi reproduction.

Here is one on ebay that is finer than yours but you can see the design typical.

First I would love to thank the both for all of the info. Thank you so much. Not sure if I should post this question here but on each rug how much do you think it is worth?

In my opinion too many small nuances to be a reproduction. Good rug, the forum is a great place to come for information, although value you should really have someone see the carpet in person or opt for an online valuation for ballpark values http://shop.rugrag.com
