Hey folks, I don't know anything about this rug as it was left behind by the previous homeowner.
All he said was it was Persian, but didn't offer any other details.

It's 9'x12' in size and thread count appears to be around 110 (I think).
It does appear to be quite old, but that is just a guess.

Can anyone identify this? Thanks in advance.

/Al

looks like a lovely mid 1950s Sarouk rug. Unfortunately the applied fringe looks as though it may have been fixed to the rug in an irreversible manner but still an awesome and great rug to come with a home, congrats on both fronts!

Thanks for the information RugPro!
I tried filling out the estimator to get an idea of replacement value and it came back with a value of $10k.
Does that seem accurate?

Btw, apologies for the delay in the thread - life happened and got in the way. ;)

I'm getting about $3000 from the estimator. We don't have many of these in the UK but I'd guess that's about right for retail replacement value, the artificial fringes will effect the value considerably.

Interesting. I have a few questions about your selections in the estimator.

Dimensions: The rug is 9 x 12 your size input was 6'10" x 4'5" did I measure incorrectly?

Kpi: I estimated it to be 110, but your values are much higher @ 320-410. Am I really that far off?

Style: It was previously mentioned to be Sarouk, you identified it as Qum. I have no idea how to tell what it actually is. There seem to be so many styles that it makes my head spin. Sick Is there something specific that indicates it as a Qum?

Age: Judging by the look of it, I believe it to be more than 20 yrs old.

Don't know what's happened with that link, looks like it's copied the link that was posted on another thread about a Qum rug.

No worries, I appreciate your help.
I know nothing about these things so I was questioning my own data more than yours! ;)

Thanks for pointing out that you can link from the estimator. I didnt notice the box at the bottom.

Here's the estimate I got. Does my input data look accurate?
