Requesting help identifying a rug I inherited several years ago

Greetings,

I inherited this rug 3 years ago. Before that it was in my mother's house for about 10-15 years, and before that it was in Switzerland for 10-20 years with my grandmother.
I would love to know it's origin and anything else about it anyone may know.

Is this something I should buy insurance for? And if so, what kind of value should I insure it for?

You haven't specified the size but I assume it is about 7x5 ft. It is a very fine Persian Isfehan Seirafian. The signature is " By Order of Sadegh Seirafian Isfahan Iran". It is Circa 1960. Seirafian is one of the most sought after pieces and there are a lot of forgeries. However, I am quite sure this is a genuine one. On the basis that this is 7x5 I would insure it for $25000.

looks like wool on silk Isfahan, I cannot read signature, but it's a good design and if Sharafi says it reads Seirafian then that is good. Also as Sharafi says cautious on fakes, post photos of the knotting on the reverse of the carpet including some area of comparison

By posting comparison photos of knotting on reverse, do you mean I should take more photos else ware on the back of the carpet and post those? Sorry I want to be clear so I don't waste your time.
