We bought this rug about 20 years ago from our favorite Auction / art house in Detroit.
I don't remember what We paid for it. It measures 65 inches by 36.5 (5 ft 5 inches by 3 feet 1 inch). It's knot count is greater than 200 kpsi. CAN one of Rugrag's experts tell me what it is, country of origin, and approximate age. I was told it had silk in it. Please see pics.

Chinese wih persian design, was probably new when you bought it. Have it washed and the silk will shine again.

have you done a burn test on pile and foundation? looks wool and cotton but could be as KAD said because it may need light cleaning.
