Readers. I am a long time rug enthusiast but need to learn. I am a studio Potter working in Porcelain, stoneware and native clays and paint and also have worked Traditional Rug Hooking with 100% Hand Dyed Wools. These can be seen on my web page. I have had them published in 'Celebrations' for Rug Hooking. I also raise orchids and enjoy gardening. Aside from my interests I would love to find a nice quality 4 x 6 Oriental and have found it almost overwhelming as to 'where' to look. It could be silk but probably will be wool. I am learning about painted, chalked and markered rugs and hope to avoid some of the pitfalls for a first time purchaser. I bought a blue kirman years ago and the tag reads loomed in Belgium, a reproduction or jacquard rug perhaps. I didn't pay much for it anyway. There are so many patterns and I know what I don't prefer but to find just that 'special' rug is an ongoing challenge. I look forward to the Rug Rag Forum learning. Llewellyn/Luke
