Help identifying an old rug...

Hi,

This rug was bought secondhand by my parents in late 60's London.

It was bought in a junk/antique shop, they weren't wealthy so I doubt it cost a
fortune. It's seen a lot of use over the years and is quite faded in the center, a bit tatty
at the edges. The ruler is metric - centimetres.

I'd love to know how old it is and roughly where it's from. Any ideas?

After much research on Google I think maybe - Caucasian Kazak Eagle 1920 or later ??

I'm no expert, but have looked a lot at Caucasian rugs and don't think this is one at all.

Compare with the Kazak Eagle/Chelaberd rug on this rug site:

You're right - not a Kazak Eagle but I think it's of Caucasian design.

Many of the motifs are very similar.
