We have rugs in every corner and nook in our house. I took early 4 months ago and now taking the time to find out what we have and how to take better care of it. From your feedback, I am cleaning my rugs differently and taking better care of the selvedges and fringes. I understand the impact on their value now. I've expanded my library to include a book on tribal rugs, rug repair, lexicon of rugs, etc. so with that knowledge, will be keeping some and replacing some and taking a lot better care of all of them. My question is on this rug we got 3 years ago from a resale shop for $75??? It measures 6' 3 " by 3' 6". It has a white wool warp and brown weft with a short pile. Is it newer, 1980's? Is this a Caucasus rug and what type? Does it has value or can it become an investment rug? It currently goes well in the hall upstairs, but I need to mind its frnges which are very long. Thanks a lot for your help. cartona attached the following image(s):
