Hi

this appears as though it may be machine made rug with a classic Persian design

Thanks rug pro, the seller said it was about 10ft X 8ft, she also said she received the rug from her inlaws that have many hand made rugs around their house, she is going to send me pictures of the back of the rug with a quarter on top and also of the fringe, I had a feeling it was too good to be true. Thanks again!!

OK, I still havent actually looked at the rug yet, but the seller sent me two more pictures, it looks like the fringe was sewn on the rug rather then a part of the rug, does that make it machine made?

great photos, they are very helpful. sewn on fringe is not the best indicator of a machine made rug. you sort of have to combine a few points of technical characteristics. This does appear to be a machine made rug, although that does not mean it has no value - people buy and sell second hand machine made rugs for a fair amount of money every day. The better materials for machine made rugs tend to be wool or nylon. These are generally the most costly to purchase new, they are generally better wearing. they have a few more rugs too?

I really like the pattern, always liked the Persian style, the seller is wanting two hundred dollars for this one, again its 10 ft by 8 ft. It is kind of too big for want I need it for, I m looking for a 6 ft by 4 ft rug for my office.
