Here is a 17+ ft by 3+ ft runner we rescued from a couple who had it in their hallway from a paraplegic and her husband. It was so dirty you could barely see the design. We gambled on it, brought it home and I washed it outside with woolite and cold water. The colors popped and I have not washed it since then. It has some significant repairs to the sides where I only just realized that one border is gone from the long sides and only exists on the ends. Other than the border and selvedge issues, it looks good on the floor. Also, the copper/ browns, dark brows show the mordant wool issues throughout the rug. Can you tell me if this is a Herati and what it's approximate age is. I would also appreciate knowing the type of knot as I am trying to educate myself on recognizing these.

Thanks so much!!!

this appears to be a good runner. The type is sort of like hamadan, but I think more specifically this would be called a tajabad. It's an old one, there don't seem to be great images of similar aged ones online. The borders reduced will take a lot off the value, but decoratively and technically it's a good rug with good design and colors
