I respectfully have to disagree with Sharafi about the type - but I understand the difficulty in assessing from the images provided. They are quite limited for what we need to see, and especially for a carpet being considered online as opposed to in person. The rug looks like a Chinese 160 line. While the density is high, this particular type of carpet is seen in many department stores in the US but is not as good as the 160 lines from the 1980's that are all wool and a good wool at that. This type of carpet does not wear amazingly well, and often times after washing the art silk will recess never to show as lavishly as first purchased.
