Is this Arak http://sandiego.craigsli...csd/fuo/4331795191.html a good deal? It is pretty big and looks nice. I bought my Kashan from this person and didn't know he was selling any others.

IF it is Persian then it is a fantastic price. While it looks it from those photos but I would rather see the close ups and especially images of the back.

Is there a way for me to know if it's a true persian and not a copy?

Well it looks Persian and if the Kashan was bought from the same house and the guy is not a dealer it is a good chance that this is a very decent Persian rug as well. It is mainly the knotting and quality of wool. Even if it is an Indian copy it is still a very good price, so I dont think you can go wrong. Just make sure it doesnt have any bold patched, colour runs, tears or other major faults

It is hard to say just by looking at these images, a close-up would be much better, but to me this is not a Persian Arak and probably an Indian rug. However, the price is good.
