I have a rug I drug home recently from a junk shop. The dimensions are 10' 10" x 12' 9". I believe it's an oushak. Colors are rose purple black blue with greenish color fringe. The carpet is very worn. It's also had several repairs that look professional. I'm wondering if this rug is worth repairing or will the cost be more than the value? Also an approximate value and age? Thank you

It is an old Oushak, condition is pretty worn as you posted. I would not spend too much in it.

Is it typical for this type of rug to have green weft and warp? I could not find any others like this while searching online. It's actually the reason I decided to bring it home. I just found it odd....but that may just be my inexperience. Do you have any guess on the age?

what are your intentions with the rug - to enjoy it or sell it?

I've not really given much thought either way. I like the rug, but I'm not sentimentally attached to it. I guess it would depend on what the rug would be worth and what kind of investment I'd have to put into it. I'm not even sure of the age. All I do know is it has taken up space in my craft room since the day I brought it home : ( and I was hoping a bit more input would help me decide if there is any hope for the old girl or leave her as is and not worry if the grand babies or dogs decide to take their wrath out on her....lol! So any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's a decorative rug, it looks like it may have a few small stains, the color has been removed from washing - note the red/pink on reverse. The open field does not sell well and this looks like an odd size. It's an interesting rug, although I wouldn't put much into it as a private owner if I were in your position.

Thanks so much for your opinion... I suppose now I can give it a good washing and use it without worry! I very much appreciate your time in reopening my post and giving me your expert advice! Have a great day :)
