I have 4 rugs that I acquired from my grandfather - with 2 different patterns but very similar rose, aqua and beige colors. My mother tells me that the rugs were purchased between 1926 and 1929 in Panama where my grandfather was stationed with the US Army. She believes both sets were purchased then, but says that some may have been purchased later (he had other rugs). Does anyone know about the origin of these rugs? I have taken many pictures (some attached). They are in pretty darned good condition considering their age, although they need cleaning. One of them shows more wear than the rest.

If I could also obtain an estimated value, I can then decide what to do with them...

Many thanks,
Petie

It seems some of the images can not be opened. The first photo appears to be a fetti-li / nichols type carpet

Thank you, Rug Pro. Yes, indeed... a search on the internet for Fette Nichols Art Deco shows similar rugs. Now... I need to figure out what value they have, if any so that I can decide if I should invest in good cleaning and search for an appropriate venue to sell them.
