Please help.... I literally know nothing about rugs, and I am in a cluster trying to figure out what to do. I hope that, although I did read the photo requirements, I failed miserably on the images, but you can still give me some info on it. Barring the circumstances of it being at another person's home and I cannot remove the furniture and items on top unless I take it home, I can have it for free, but if I don't make up my mind they will give it to somebody else. The size is 11'-ish by 22'-ish. Once again, I know nothing about rugs outside the words "Oriental" and "Persian." (or something.)

I assume a rug of this size is worth something which certainly peaks my interest. But once again, I am at the mercy of you wonderful folks who have to deal with my junk photos. Give me some good news please?

The rug is handknotted, wool pile on Cotton foundation. It was made in Turkey. The design is an Oushak style mixed with Colors of persian Sarouk rugs. This makes it pretty easy to date - 1940 - 50. The rug is of good Quality and if there are no Major defects it will bring some Money. But the demand for large rugs seems to be not as big as it used to be.

Good to know... thank you so much for the info!

That being said, with my limited Wikipedia research, it being, turkish from the 40s, this falls under the category of being a "handmade oriental rug," correct?

I'm not going to lie, I don't think this is going to fit in my apartment so I may be better off selling it, I'm just questioning how to word this behemoth of a rug correctly.

Thanks again.
