I bought this rug recently for $200. It appears to be hand made . The size is 6 x 9'. The woman I purchased it from said it was a lambs wool pile on a cotton foundation, she believed it came from China. A friend of hers had bought it about 15 years ago for around $3,200. I bought it thinking it was much too pretty to be that cheap, but what do I know... Anyway now I've got the bug, and I've been doing my research and I really want to sell this and get a "real" Persian carpet. So any help with an ID would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

For some reason every time I load an image it converts all the previously uploaded images to the same one. Odd.

Posting one photo per post seems to be the only way to do this.

Thank you for your patience. Even with all the difficulties I'm so delightfully happy learning about these rugs.

I'm curious to find out as well. This woman does have one other carpet for sale, perhaps I'll start another thread later. In the meantime, here are the proper photos for identification I believe. Thanks.

Wasn't what I originally thought. Looks like a fine quality pak-Persian. But still a major bargain!

Thanks again little Persia. I'm wondering, What is it specifically that indicates to you that this is Pac-Persian "Pakistani?" rug? I'm just trying to learn all I can. The rug estimator is giving me a pretty crazy price, I'm wondering, if I were to try and sell this piece, how should it be priced? And thanks again for all your help.

I dont believe this to be pak persian. It looks chinese 160 line here is the sample of full blown retail of this carpet in clean condition. This piece would be closer to the lower end since it is at the lower end of knot count. Also know, as a private party buyer, you would sell at a fraction of this. Maybe 1/4 retail since the carpet is not clean and you do not have overhead or inventory.

Thanks RugPro. It's cool to see how you input all the data into the estimator. Though I had noticed the shiny highlights,I hadn't realized they were silk, so that's interesting. What I'm getting from pricing data is approximately $5-$700? Sure would be nice to take that money and purchase another rug or two.

From the images it doesn't look like lower than normal pile height to me. Factoring that in the estimator would go up to around $2900 from $2000 and that's probably a fairly accurate range for retail prices.

If it is Chinese it would be from my count 180 line (which I'm sure there they would sell as 200 line), or 45 raj which is normally sold as 50 raj...

Whatever it is, it's a good buy.
