Can someone tell me what my rug is worth? I know it is silk but am not sure where it was made. Bought while on deployment to Afghanistan.

As I always say it is not that easy to judge rugs from a photo. However, this piece does not come across as silk to me but mercerised cotton. The piece is pretty and it is has been taken from an Isfehan design and well executed. The dyes all seem to be chemical. In a shop in US you probably pay anything from $150 to $200 for this, but it really does not have a resell value and would not bring in any money in an auction. Sorry, wrong thread. Second the thoughts of Sharifi on this one, look to be viscose rather than silk but can never be 100% from photos (appearance and experience would suggest it is though). Maybe a bit more at retail but not much ($50 more).
