We've had our carpet appraised by a highly respected and accredited appraiser who gave us a certificate identifying it as an 1850's Malayar Sarouk, 9'7" x 12'6". It's been in our family or connected to our family since 1857 but unfortunately there will be no room for it in our new house so living in Ontario, Canada, what is the best way to go about getting it to market?

Do you have photos of the carpet? The appraiser did not have recommendations for you?

If it is an 1850 rug the best place is either Sothebys or even better Christies New York
