Hi Rugrag

Comments on Nain rugs have prompted me to ask these questions about my Nain Rug.

Is it made in Nain? Would it have natural/vegetable dies.

Hopefully image comparisons will help answer some of luxurybound's concerns as I too was confused with all the different quality Nains

I paid arround $110 a sq foot from a retailer. It is 6.56ftx9.84ft, 6la with lots of silk highlights and around 650Kpsi.

It is very interesting to have two different, what I believe to be 6la Nains. Tony's I think is a much newer one with good weave unusual design and very crisp and clear outlines. It is very difficult to tell if the dyes are natural from the photo but if the red is quite deep red it could be cocheneal, which is used quite a bit in that area. Borise's while there is no poto of the back appears to be an older 6la Circa 1970 and has a certain character. However they are both clearly (to me) are different to luxurybound's carpet, and both prices seem to be reasonable.

Great rug of top quality. I think colors are more likely to be chrome dyes which are used on 95% of all rugs made. Price was very ok.
