Hello guys, I am new to the oriental rugs fever, but certainly caught it. I like a rug in the local oriental rugs shop, but need some pointers: dealers claims its a 1930s rug, worth 18 thousand US $. From what I read, I have a sneaky feeling it may be newer than 1930s and worth perhaps less? Its a larger rug. Many thanks for your time and consideration. http://bit.ly/16Rakhm

It is very difficult to tell how old it is from your photos. One needs to at least have a clearer photo of the back. But from what you have sent I think it is Circa 1960. The value depends on the size, which you havent given and also condition. Whether it has any restorations and how much and what kind or colour runs. Sorry I can't be of any further help.
