Hello, I'm looking for some info and a value on an old rug I have. From what research I've done, I believe it's an early american sarouk. It measures roughly 9'x 13' and is overall in nice shape minus a tear. I do have the missing piece so it could be repaired. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Looks like an American Sarouk. Wouldn't say it's antique.

I'm told it is likely from the 1930's. Do you have any idea of value?

It certainly seems as if it is an American Saruk and a good one too. I think you have been told correctly it seems to be a 1930s piece. Because of the problem it has the value would be reduced quite drastically, as repairs like this are a bit of a gamble. If they come out good then you can get a return on it but if it does not come out so good then you are in trouble to recover your money. It is very difficult to value carpets like this without seeing them, as you have to check first and foremost that it is not rotten, especially round the areas that has been torn off. Have you been offered any price for it?
