Hi. I posted this rug in the other section, and KAD helped me identify it as a Dhurrie rug. I have since then found out that it was hand made in Jaipur in a traditional vertical weave, and has been naturally dyed. It would have been a custom order, and the scene is so big, and bold it would not have been chosen as a traditional tourist trade item, or mass produced item for import sales in the states. It's possibly the only of it's kind. The scene represents the Maharaja and his Kingdom. It's double sided, with the same scene on the back. I believe it to be mid century. The rug is so unique, no one can compare it to anything else for identifying. Any help with any additional info, and a value would be greatly, and much appreciated.
