Hi All,

I've recently inherited this rug. I don't think it's super fine, but I'm curious to learn about it—age, type, location of origin, approximate value. Any thoughts? The colors are a bit darker than they look in the image.

Can the experts on this forum offer any price estimates? I would be very thankful.

I searched for "Najafabad" carpets online and didn't see much that resembled this rug.

Here's a Najafabad on eBay. Depends on what you mean by price. Insurance, private sale, retail...?

Your rug is a persian / iranian Tabriz. It is of rather low quality. It is strongly damaged by moths, on the picture you posted you can see damaged wool, moth cocons and moth worms.

The quality is probably a 20 raj with means it has 20 knots in a row of 7 cm length (this is a estimate, if you Count it you will get the exact number).

I marked the damaged areas on your picture with white lines and cocons and worms with white arrows.
