I love this rug. I am trying to decide if it is worth purchasing, if it is truly handmade, antique, etc.
Any rough estimates on type, age, value?
Thank you- greatly appreciated in advance!

northwest persian, early 20th centruy perhaps? Old but probably not antique (100 years old). You should have it be looked at in person. It may be possible this rug has been reduced in length and width around the perimeter / perhaps missing one outside border. Although the normal pattern is reciprocated inside and out of the main border, the outside border rarely has a different background color which leads me to believe it is possible there was an additional. This may also account for the slightly more unusual length and width measurement

(Please excuse the double post- I wasn't sure which topic to place this in)

I recently purchased this rug from online, from a dealer who identified the rug as an old Bakhshayesh, 1890-1920s
It measures almost 9 feet wide x 11'3"
It is not as dark as it looks in some of the photos.
It was my first rug purchase.
I know the most important thing is to love the rug, which I do- I'm just curious to know if experts here agree with how the rug was portrayed by the seller.
Any information and assessments of the rug would be really appreciated. Thank you!
