Hi there!

I'm new here and hoping someone can help. I just acquired the rug in the attached photos, and was hoping to get some opinions on its value. This is a 4.45 meter by 3.45 meter (11.3 ft x 14.6 ft) rug from Tabriz, Iran. It's in excellent condition -- no stains or fraying on the edges whatsoever.

I'm told that the rug is about 15 years or so old, and given that fact, we should expect to see some solid appreciation in the next 5 years.

Any insight is welcomed!!

Hi, nice looking rug! I'm not expert enough in this type of rug to comment on its value, but nice handmade rugs of that size are valuable.

Not to be a party pooper, but I don't agree with your comment "the rug is about 15 years or so old, and given that fact, we should expect to see some solid appreciation in the next 5 years." A 15 year old rug does not appreciate as it becomes a 20 year old rug. If you said "expect to see some solid appreciation in the next 85 years," I might agree. Of course, if rug prices as a whole move up for some reason, examples in good condition like yours should see the benefit.
