Hello,
A true neophyte here! However, I have been studying plenty over the past couple of months and want to say thanks to you all who participate on this forum. I've spent a bit of time on here, but certainly havent had anything to add to the knowledge bank--:-)
I'm planning to buy a couple of rugs and would be keen to get some thoughts.
Here's what I've been told about the rugs which I'm considering purchasing through a nice Pakistani fellow I know in HK. All the sizes are listed on the photos.
The first one is what I've been told is a Sarook (I'm sure there are a number of ways to spell this haha):
-Approximately 30 years old
-He works with a big carpet company in Lahore and was thinking to dye the black. After further consideration he has suggested not to do this to this rug as he feels it's a bit special.
- It has been suggest that this carpet be used in a low traffic area.
-Plan would be to place it on carpet in our bedroom at the end of the bed.
-Weight is about 15kg's
The second one is a new Hatchlu:
- It is supposedly made with belgian wool
-It will be used in a rumpus room with medium traffic at times
-The carpet will be on padding with concrete underneath
-Carpet may be ironed prior to shipping
-Fringe will be straightened and cut to 1.5"
-Weight is about 30kg's
The third one is from Andkhoy allegedly:
-don't really know much about it, just that it's "unusual"
-fringe will be straigtened and cut to 1.5"
-plan is to put this in a high traffic area in our living room (high traffic= two people and dog-ha)
Total cost, inclusive of international shipping is right around $3k. I'd be keen to know anything you can tell me about these and if I'm overpaying.
