Hi:

This is my first message on this forum.

But I can't seem to insert images. The "insert image"
button does not respond. What is the trick? Thanks.

Hi:

This is my first message on this forum.

Can you please help me by identifying the nature of this rug?
It came from an embassy and is therefore very large 12 ft X 18 ft.
It is in excellent condition. Photos are attached.

Is it handmade or machine made?
Can you tell when and where it was made? Age?

We purchased it for about $500 at a government auction, and we
wish to donate it to a charity a s a fundraiser. Is this of any
value?

Any ideas on who would want to purchase such a large rug or how
to market it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not a bad deal for a rug this size. It is a rug in Chobi or Ziegler style. These rugs where made in the last 15 years as a reproduction of antique rugs. Comparing front and back it seems to be very dirty or the colors have faded very much. From the color and knot style I think it is most likely made in India, but might also been made in Pakistan. If you want to sell it you might try ebay or an auction house.

Appears to be Indian made. It seems to be of good construction and quality.
