I tried to put this on earlier, but got an error message. However, since there is now another tapistry, it might be a good time to bring up the subject.
The subject of art textiles doesn't get much discuss which probably only indicates lack of interest and lack of interesting textiles. I know Isfahan in the 16th and 17th centuries was reknown for it's textiles and earlier had been mentioned by Marco Polo. Also, polo was invented by the Persian.
I also know block tapestries are still made in Iran, and can be bought for $30 on line.
I''m attaching a small 25"X35" which I was only able to get limited picture. The rest of the rug is a repeat of what is shown.
In person, the piece is much darker ie tan or even brown. I don't know if that is aging or tea wash or maybe even the original color.
Is there any significance in these pieces.
