Be aware of the embargo for Iranian goods in US - you might get in trouble if you bring real persian rugs back to US.

Be aware that most of the poeple buying in Turkey get ripped off really bad and usually pay way too much for the rugs they buy.
If you buy to high, you will not be able to sell at a good price un US.

Be aware that exporting real antiques is restricted.

Price of labour is high in Turkey compared to other rug producing countries - therefor rugs from India and Afghanistan / Pakistan are "aged" and sold as "turkish antique".
5.
Spread your risk - better take your time to buy more small pieces at lower prices than spending a lot of money into expensive rugs. If you want to keep the rugs - buy what you like, but selling one expensive rug is way more difficult than a few at lower price.
