This is a hand-tufted rug made in China. The pile is wool, but unlike hand-knotted rugs where each individual knot is tied on a pair of warp threads, here the wool is pasted to a backing following a certain pattern. Your rug should not be more than a few years old. I am sorry to say it is not going to bring you a whole lot of cash.
