Hello,
first of all, I apologize for the terrible quality of these pictures. These rugs are crammed in the back room of a local thrift store and there is no room to spread them out properly.
#1 is said to be newer, approx. 8 x 12 feet.
#2 is said to be ~30years old and approx 10 x 14 feet.

If you can say anything about these based on the pictures, even what city or tribal group they represent, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

The first piece I'm struggling with due to the photography but could be Persian, I'm not too sure without a good look...

The other piece, well it's a Persian Mahi Tabriz - North West Iran (Azerbaijan) and looks to be inlayed with silk. Mahi is the name given to the design which covers the ground and translates to Fish in the English Language.

I take it a 'Thrift Store' is a 'Chariy/Second Hand Shop' in the US?
Kind Regards,

Stephen Saunders

Thanks for your feedback. I have been looking at pictures and I'm sure you're right Stephen, about the Tabriz identification. I hope to get a better picture of the first one. Yes, a Thrift Store is a Charity Shop in the USA.

The first one looks like an Indian to me. The second one has the Persian "Mahi" design, but I think it should be made in China and is not a Persian Tabriz. But image quality is low and I could be mistaken.
