I was given this rug as a gift. The story goes that it was obtained in Baghdad in 2006 and is a silk qum prayer rug. Photos were sent to Rug Rag and they told me it is not Persian or Iranian and to post here for information. They did tell me it is hand knotted.
It is a 4ft x 6ft approx. measure.

Here is the email I rec'd from Rug Rag:
It is hand knotted, although from a brief look at the carpet it does not appear to be of Persian or Iranian origin. Further information / consultation for ballpark information can be provided through our online consulting process. Our fee to do so for this carpet is $60. You may alternatively use our Oriental rug forum which is free to use and register,

Thank you for any help!!

It is a chinese rug, medium quality, most likely artifical silk, not a prayer design. Handknotted. Retail about $60 per square foot.
