Hello,
I bought this big (7' x 13.5') kilim locally. The previous owner believes it is Turkish, says his mother bought it 30-40 years ago. He thought it was "old" when she bought it, but how old, nobody knows. It is dirty and has a lot of badly repaired holes and ragged borders. I would like to clean and stabilize it so it doesn't get damaged any further, then keep it for personal use. I'd like to know as much as possible about it:
Where was it made and when?
What's the best way to stabilize it and prevent further damage?
thanks again,
Tim
