This has worked in the past for me -- take a brown paper grocery bag and cut it open so it lies flat (make sure to cut out any inked areas so it won't bleed onto rug). Place bag over wax and press with a heated iron using low setting. Keep moving bag and press until wax is gone, then throw away the bag.

You can also use paper towels or toilet papaer instead of paper bags - don`t use very high heat. Use at least 5 -7 layers to have enough paper to suck up the wax.

Hope this idea will work for you should use a knife to remove the wax from your rug and if its soft then you can use the ice cubes also for this purpose. Use the vacuum and low heat iron to remove the wax completely. Use the alcohol gently for wax. Sponge with water. Try to repeat the process again and again hope it will work for you and your wax will be removed you will get your clean and clear rug back.
