I bought this rug two years ago. At that time I thought its Joshaghan but I am not sure because the color is unusual for joshaghan. Its 8x11. Any ideas about origin, knot type and age greatly appreciated.

Design is joshegan, although the rug could have been woven in one of many areas. can you show a close up of a section from each end of fringe? Does the rug have any identifying tags, and how was it sold to you?

Thanks RugPro. There is no tag on the rug. The seller told me Nain.

Its design is a bit like Joshaghan, but the rug is a Tabbas (Chorasan district). Usually they are sold as Nain rugs (Tabbas Nain).

Definitely looks like Tabbas implementation - they normally do them to look like Nain and this one does in terms of colour, if not design. Wouldn't say it's old.

The production of these rugs in larger numbers stareted about 20 years ago. I think it is from the end of the 1990`s.
