Requesting information on my Afghan rug

I recently purchased this rug in Afghanistan for $200. I really like the rug, but would love it if I heard I didn't get ripped off. I wish I would have found this site sooner!

I am planning on putting this in a moderately trafficked area. I wasn't planning on using a rug pad unless it's recommended.
Also, I am curious about the pattern, if anyone has any insight. Anything you can tell me would be great. Thanks in advance for your time.

I didn't have a quarter handy, so I used a tape measure.
