In quite reasonable condition. I have included a photo of some wear on selvage.
I hope the photos represent the colours well and the images you've requested for identification. Tomato red center, nearly orange.
I have read many posts here and searched photos prior to posting.

If you can give me some ideas of what this is, I would be most grateful.

Oh my, forgive me.
When I attempted to upload images I got an error and decide to re-try later. I didn't know that my comment had posted yet.

From the front side it looks a lot like a persian Tabriz from the tabatabai workshop. These rugs where very popular in the 1970`s. Looking closer it seems it is not an original persian rug. The selvedge, the knots and the quality of the wool would make me think it is a reproduction of an persian tabriz made in india. But still a good quality.

Thank you for taking the time to look and offering up your thoughts.
Since the rug doesn't suit my needs (it's quite large), can you help me with a value on it so that I may fairly offer it for sale.
I don't want to misrepresent that it is a reproduction if you're sure that it is.

I agree with KAD. It is a hand knotted rug, emulating a design of the maker workshop cited but made in India. Age is probably mid 70's or late 70's. Not much newer or older. Try not to focus on stating it is a replica if listing. The carpet is an authentic hand knotted rug. Just under 9'x12' in average condition, less than $500 (and you may be hard pressed to get close to that if you're hoping to sell soonish) but get what you can as it is wool and it is handmade. Looks like there is some good pile left
