A little background - my grandparents were from Iran and so I grew up in a household where rugs were important. This rug was given to my parents about 50 years ago and it wasnt new at the time. This rug is the only one in all the households that doesnt have the primary reds and blues and its always been looked upon as the ugly duckling. Anyway it is mine and i love it- it so very soft and light and it fits the room its in. It does have some damage but i dont know if its worth getting repaired.

I guess i need to know what it is and if there is any value to warrant an investment in the piece. Thank you in advance!

The rug is appx 47" by 66"

The squares around the border vary from a pale pale yellow to a pale blue- hardly visible unless you look- i guess from the years of fade.

This is a Persian Turkeman and not worth much. If the sentimental value justifies the repair cost (around $300) then go ahead and have it repaired. I would not do it if I were you.
