Hello, I am a newbie as well, but this has the distinguishing characteristics of being a Caucasian rug. The very angular designs make it readily identifiable. The medallions are sometimes referred to as "eagles" because they resemble the double headed eagle crest of the Romanoff dynasty, which of course ruled the region before the revolution. Alternatively they are sometimes called "stars". As for price, I would leave that to the experts but it is very pretty and unusual how 1/3 of the field is a different color than the rest.
