Hi there. hoping some of you could shed some light here. Age/origin/use/symbolism/value if any. The rug measures about 19 inches by about 32 inches. All wool yet the warps are more like hair- maybe 5-6 inches long, similar to very fine human hairs. Was this a bag at some point? There is a very obvious fold and change in wear across the middle. One end of the rugs edges are wrapped in a silvery blue, the other end a madder sort of color and the center third of the rugs edges dont even seem wrapped or have worn out. It is in terrible condition as you can see and is missing a lot of pile especially in the middle. I am interested in the small symbols across the rug. Can someone elaborate on their meaning or possibly direct me to an online reference? Thanks.

Thanks. I was thinking it was turkish but only based on some similar stuff online. I am especially interested in learning about the symbols. Any thoughts? It would be nice to know how old it is. I would guess older than 1900 but I dont know... I buy em when I like em and they're cheap. 1 buck :)
