I purchased the large 12.5 X 9.3 all silk Kahmir carpet approximately 10 years ago on a trip to India for just under $ 3,000. I would appreciate any comments on the age design and indicated value of this carpet as is too large for amy current partment and i am looking to sell it.

Everything really depends on the weave. Can you post a close-up photo of the back of the rug where the fringe meets the pile? If you include a tape measure or quarter in the pic for reference, that would be good!

Kashmir rugs of this quality, in this size, and in perfect condition generally sell for roughly $4000 today if they are in a "hot" color scheme. What you have was hot 1-2 decades ago, and unfortunately, that greatly affects the demand for this item. If someone were to offer you $2500, I would take it and run. Keep the rug, if you can, because what is hot is always changing.
