...from the seller: "this carpet has some wear and tear, which is normal for an antique rug and the dealer said that this carpet is in good shape and that I should get $500." ...the size is 33"x 55" and it's listed for $400... what do you all think... too tough to tell from these photos. I really can't see this being an antique rug. The Oriental Rug Retailers of America accept the term "antique" as being a rug or carpet which is 100 years of age or older. The colors and design don't really reflect this age, but I'd have to see better pics to confirm. People throw these terms antique and semi antique around way too loosely. Do you have access to higher resolution photos and of the whole rug? it looks like it could be pretty, but I do think I can see some isolated areas of heavy wear.
