I am a first timer here.

There are so many styles that I am confused.
Is this really an Isphahan ?

I was told it is wool+silk.

- how much is this worth ?
- info on quality/style/approxiamte value (for 2x3m) would be appreciated.

thanks

I'd say it's a Nain rather than Isfahan, unusual colours. It does look like wool with silk details (although sometimes these details are cotton rather than silk). Retail value would be several thousand if it's in perfect condition.

Real nice Isfahan, kurkwool and silk. Check if warp / fringes are also silk (I am pretty sure they are). It is impossible to tell the value from these pictures, there are more important things to see than just the design. Better take it to a good rug store near you and have it appraised properly. As Little-Persia posted - it is worth a few thousand dollars.

Thanks Little_Persia and KAD for your input.

Just to clarify, this is not an old rug.

How much is a reasonable price for a new rug of this quality (supposedly 65 Raj) of size 2x3(6 meters) ?

I don't know how many colors it has and how that will affect the price.

Oh and how do you tell the type of wool (curk or otherwise) ?
Is there a test or is it visual ?

thanks

Any idea how much I should pay for a 2x3 (6m) of this quality ?
Your advice is appreciated.

these rugs get to be very technical - sometimes it even matters how many threads comprise one warp, as well as knot density, full size of rug, at times signatures, etc. if it has silk, whether it is true silk matters, age matters, etc. we cannot see many distinguishing characteristics from your photos

Thanks Rugpro for your response.
Let me ask a different question.

What type of Isfahan design is this ?
Is this Serefian design ?
I understand there are a couple of different designs.
thanks
