This rug belonged to a family member. It is my understanding that it was purchased in the latter 1970's from a rug dealer in CA. And that is about all I know.
Size is approx 12'x9'. It is very thick and very heavy.
In my opinion, it appears to be in very good condition.

I apologize, but due to the current location of the rug, I am unable to get far enough away from it to photo it in it's entirety.

I would like help identifying the rug, as well as an approx value (to determine if needs to be insured)

I did do a burn test.

Fiber from rug curled as it burned.

Fiber from fringe did not.

wool pile cotton foundation. appears to be a chinese or japanese version of aubusson. these are tough sells.
